    The use of extension cords in homes is the number one cause of household electrical fires! Building codes have been amended to add more
    outlets but many homes still lack the proper amount needed. Installing an electrical outlet anywhere in your home right where you need it the most is the

    Ungrounded outlets are outlets that lack a ground wire to protect you from electric shock. A ground wire provides a safe path away from you back into
    the earth in the event of a short. Grounding also protects your appliances from electrical damage. This is why many appliances have a 3 prong plug.

    A two-prong outlet alerts you that there is no ground wire and prevents plugging in an appliance or electronic that requires grounding. In some cases,
    uninformed persons will replace a two-prong outlet with a three-prong outlet without adding a new ground wire. This is not a good idea! Doing so
    creates a major hazard and is potentially dangerous to anyone using that outlet. This is why replacing a two-prong outlet with a three-prong outlet

    outlet other than an electrical plug. The new outlet looks like a regular outlet but has a cover especially designed to prevent shock accidents. These
    outlets have been used successfully in doctor's offices, schools, and nurseries. Georgia now requires tamper-resistant outlets in all residential
    dwellings. Many electricians ignore this new code and continue to install the cheaper, outdated outlets to save money (this is unsafe). We only install   
     tamper-resistant outlets! Check your outlets for the "TR" label to make sure your home is as safe as it can be.
